Karin Burns, DVM
Doctor Burns earned Bachelor’s of Science degrees in animal science and microbiology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Florida College of Agriculture in 1994.  Her professional education was completed at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.  Dr. Burns continues her training as a regular participant in professional continuing education, placing particular emphasis on the subjects of pediatrics, geriatrics, feline medicine and behavior, and staff management.
Dr. Burns has a wide range of experience in both general and emergency medicine, and has developed a loyal following of clients since arriving in the Phoenix metropolitan area in the summer of 1999.  After having worked in both single- and multi-doctor veterinary practices over the last eight years, Dr. Burns—and a nomadic group of “charter clients”—are thrilled to be putting down permanent roots at Priority Pet Hospital.

Doctor Burns is married and makes her home in Chandler; she and her husband Dr. William Griswold share their home with several pets, including two Deutsch Drahthaars (Rana and Archie), three tri-color cats (Sarabi, Delta, and Cassidy), and numerous reptiles.  Dr. Burns’ hobbies include scrapbooking and other crafts, gardening, hiking, camping and other outdoor activities.

William (Billy) Griswold, DVM
Doctor Griswold earned a Bachelor’s of Science in zoology with a minor in French from the University of Florida College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in 1995.  His veterinary education focused on small animal medicine and surgery with additional training in exotic animal and zoological medicine.  Following graduation in 1999, Dr. Griswold completed an accredited internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Mesa Veterinary Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.  This internship provided extensive experience and additional training in general and preventative medicine, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, cardiology, radiology, dentistry, and emergency medicine.
After completion of his internship, Dr. Griswold spent two years working in a general veterinary practice before joining the staff of the Emergency Animal Clinic for five years.  He currently provides veterinary relief services to a number of small animal practices—including Priority Pet Hospital—in the Southeast Valley.

Dr. Griswold enjoys writing and photography, and has published written and photographic works in both books and magazines.  He is active in several outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, and hunting with Rana and Archie, his Deutsch Drahthaars.
